Lithuanian thrash metal band Phrenetix have been confirmed as the opening act for the entire Primal Fear Baltic tour
Lithuanian thrash metal band Phrenetix have been confirmed as the opening act for the entire Primal Fear Baltic tour, which will begin on March 27 with a performance at the Helitehas club in Tallinn, continue on March 28 at the Palladium in Riga, and conclude on March 29 at the Loftas club in Vilnius.
Founded in 2012, Phrenetix have taken a creative approach to the thrash metal genre, developing and expanding its boundaries. Fast, technical, and unrestricted, yet at the same time melodic – Phrenetix aim to combine a party spirit with an honest and fresh take on classic metal music.
At the forefront of the band is vocalist, guitarist, and main songwriter Lina, who has loved singing and imagining herself performing on stage since childhood. However, a turning point came with her first encounter with Metallica’s music: “from that moment, I understood exactly what I wanted to do with my life – and that was to become a full-time musician.” Lina has honed her talent professionally at the Lithuanian Academy of Music.
The band also includes second guitarist Paulius, bassist Daumantas, and drummer Gediminas.
Their 2015 debut album “Fear” was a tribute to the good old thrash metal genre. Although it was generally well received, the band members themselves were not entirely satisfied with the sound of modern thrash metal bands. Therefore, Phrenetix began experimenting, becoming more melodic and distinctive while maintaining the traditional drama and a certain level of aggression. This direction is reflected in their second album “Exuviae” (2021) and their latest single “Rise” released in 2025, which they promise to follow up this year with an EP.
Phrenetix consider their emotional connection with the audience as a key source of inspiration. Therefore, they strive to perform as often as possible. In addition to concerts in their home country Lithuania, several European tours (2023 and 2024), and opening for stars such as Testament and UDO, a major milestone in their career was performing at Europe’s largest metal festival “Wacken Open Air” (2018) and Portugal’s “Bairrada Metalfest” (2023).
There is no doubt – every Phrenetix performance will be loud, fast, and aggressive, yet at the same time melodic, offering metal fans a fresh experience of the genre.
We remind you that on March 28, the German power metal band Primal Fear will perform in Latvia for the first time at the Palladium in Riga. With nearly 30 years of experience and 15 studio albums released, the band will delight the Riga audience with powerful guitar riffs, galloping rhythms, and the mighty vocals of frontman Ralf Scheepers.
The concert program is designed to introduce highlights from their latest album “Domination” – The Hunter, Tears of Fire, Destroyer, I Am the Primal Fear, Hallucinations – as well as take the audience through their rich catalog of hits accumulated over the years: The End Is Near, Chainbreaker, Metal Is Forever, Seven Seals, King of Madness, Running in the Dust, Nuclear Fire, etc.
